I see presence, curiosity, and reflection as essential tools in the process of thriving. Tailwinds and headwinds in life help us develop navigation skills, empathy, and personal strength. We are shaped both by life itself and by how we learn from and with others. Mental health is built through many small steps – and it’s healthy to pause now and then to reflect on the “weather conditions” you’re moving through.
A good therapist to me is both a partner and a fellow human being in the midst of what feels difficult. Someone to walk alongside you as you approach what may feel frightening or uncomfortable. The truths you haven’t yet dared to tell yourself. A trusted companion who can help ease the burden, so you gain a clearer sense of which next steps to take in your life and in your relationships.
I care deeply about communities – both their possibilities and their limits. How can we belong while staying true to ourselves? How do we create and hold space in families and at work, so that everyone has a voice? And when is it actually fair to say “no, thank you”?
